This unique program is intended to create awareness among the student community on core concepts of Project Management based on the Project Management Institute's "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge"

PMIPCC intends to hold this program in the following 12 locations across India.This list is only provisional. PMIPCC APAC Governance board will decide to add new zones or drop any of the above zone, incase of lack of interest from the partner Institute or colleges in the zone.

Workshop

PMIPCC and the partner institute from the zone will jointly host a one day Symposium on Project Management to a selected list of pre-final, final year students and faculties from different colleges of the zone.

Competition

At the end of the workshop, aninter collegiate competition on Project Planning and Scheduling will be announced. Three students will form a team and can enroll for the competition with a selected topic.

The team should submit the project plan within 12 weeks from the date of the workshop completion to the PMPCC-PMCDP evaluation committee.

Only two reports from each college will be allowed by PMIPCC evaluation committee for evaluation. One Report per zone will be selected and the team will be encouraged to participate in a one day Pre-conference workshop in Hyderabad . Each team should present their plan in the Pre-conference workshop and a panel of experts will select the best three teams. Selected corporates will be invited to participate in this events and some of them could be potentials employers looking for young engineers

The Conference registration fee for top three teams will be waived . They will also receive an award from the Chair.

Partner Institute

PMIPCC or supporting local chapter will identify a Partner Institute in each zone. The partner Institute will co-ordinate along with the PMIPCC/Supporting Local Chapter in making the workshop successful.

Role of the Partner Institute

  • Communicate the workshop details to 8-10 institutes in their City/Zone.
  • Take registrations from the participating institutes
  • Plan workshop venue , lunch , morning and evening coffee/tea
  • Arrange accommodation for the PMIPCC faculty and project lead in their guest house or nearest hotel (PMIPCC will pay the cost of the stay for their officials)
  • Arrange to pick up the officials from nearest railway station
  • Co-ordinate the workshop registrations and the day's proceedings
  • PMIPCC expects the placement cell to take up the responsibility as part of Industry/Institute collaboration

PMCDP Kit

The PMCDP kit will contain the course material of the symposium, list of topics and terms and conditions for the competition (ICC-PPS). All the students and staff members who participate in the workshop will receive the PMCDP Kit.

Project Leader

PMIPCC will identify a project leader for each zone. The project leader will be the single point of contact for all queries/clarifications.

Target Audience

  • Pre-final and final year students of Engineering, MCA and Management Streams
  • Post graduate students
  • Number of participants from each college will be restricted to 15
  • Number of staff members from each college/institute will be restricted to 5

Workshop Registration Fees

  • For each student/staff member Rs.300

The student / faculty coordinator from each college/Institute consolidate the registrations and should send a consolidated list of participants to the Partner Institute. The payment shall be made in the form of Demand Draft only, to be drawn in favor of " Project Management Institute Pearl City Chapter" payable at Hyderabad.
